  1. A mighty bold statement indeed, one that some may construe as elitist or even divisive. But it’s the kind of declaration I would expect to hear from someone who’s devoted themselves to a particular form of expression, and I like the determined weight of it. Mr. Daisey doesn’t say that theatre is the only important art form, just the most important one. And in a city of artists that choose their medium based on the potential for getting paid, that resonates with me.

    I would hope that every artist would practice the form of expression that they honestly believe serves mankind the most, even if it’s not necessarily the one that they are the most talented at. I, for one, agree wholeheartedly with Mr. Daisey’s assertion.
